“I’ll come back and I’ll have a camera in my hand, I don’t care what happens“ :
Christopher Fussell likes to take pictures of trains and buses. The 29-year-old Oregonian has shot photos and video of transit systems all over the United States.
It wasn’t until he came to Baltimore, he said Tuesday, that he was detained for committing photography.
Rules regarding public photography has to be one of the most misunderstood ones out there. Law officers are often either utterly ignorant or straight up refuse to acknowledge what the law actually says. We’ve had numerous incidents here in the city over past several years and it’s sad to see this is still going on. Glad to see ACLU is taking MTA to task over this.
The group warned that unless the agency meets a series of conditions by Sept. 1, it will take the MTA to court — where it expects to win.
Right on.
