I really thought I was done with it once the second season ended. Then somebody posted one of the songs from the new season’s soundtrack - and I decided to watch an episode, out of curiosity, for old times sake…
That was a mistake.

This often silly, stereotypical, brit teen soap still had the same effect it did when I watched it for the first time. There’s no way I can sum up the weird mix of far-reaching, often contradictory, obscure emotions I’d feel when sitting through an episode or a certain scene. They range from restlessness you get from wasting precious time that you should be using for something important…to nostalgia that doesn’t always make sense in context of what’s going on the screen….to a sense of loss that I didn’t think I’d experience going forward…not to mention a longing that I can’t explain here. (Some of them are standard fairs that happen to me whenever I encounter certain things that are English.)
The fact that it had none of the previous casts yet made clear reference to them through out, and that one key character - the ‘bridge’ if you will - between the old and the new - all of that only made it worse.
May be that’s cause its the first episode of the season. And it won’t feel this way If I continue to watch the rest of the season. But I’m not going to find out. Its utterly pointless and a total waste of time.
